Job Summary:
The Sales Representative will be responsible for selling organic soil and fertilizer to retailers, growers, and independent caregivers. He/she will develop new business and manage accounts and there will be some weekend work at festivals and other events. The territory is MI, IL, OH, and IN so a company car will be provided but he/she must be willing to travel to meet customers.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

* Prospects new accounts using state and local licensing databases, social media, and other online tools
* Drives revenue and market share in a defined territory (MI, IL, OH, and IN) to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets
* Maintains regular communication (face to face, phone, and email) with clients
* Uses a consultative sales process to educate prospects on what products will best fit their needs
* Negotiates contract terms with clients
* Responds to inbound inquiries in a timely and professional manner
* Maintains expert-level knowledge on company products as well as the latest trends in the cannabis industry
* Maintains customer database and ensures that all information is accurate
* Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new services, marketing strategies and merchandising techniques
* Processes orders
* Monitors the status of deliveries and stays in regular communication with clients, manufacturing, and operations to ensure orders are filled efficiently
* Reaches out to clients to inform them about new products, special delivery schedules, and other important updates
* Participates in evening and weekend promotions and assists with special events as needed

Education and Experience Requirements:

* At least 3 years of sales experience; ideally some of that within the cannabis industry
* Proven track record of developing a sales strategy, building new business, and meeting quotas
* Able and willing to travel throughout the territory
* Able to work independently with minimal supervision
* Strong persuasion and interpersonal skills
* Exceptional communication and customer service skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
* Proficient technical skills including use of MS Office, Google Drive, and a CRM
* Must be at least 21 years old
* Background check will be conducted after an offer is extended
